ABOUT PG – STAR SCHEME

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has initiated “SCHEME FOR TRAINING IN AYURVEDA RESEARCH FOR PG SCHOLARS (PG- STAR)” for Ayurveda Post Graduate Scholars pursuing their MD/MS(Ayu) courses. Currently a total of ~ 4600 scholars are pursuing MD/MS degree in various branches in NCISM / GoI affiliated / recognized colleges/institutes. This scheme aims at facilitating MD/MS Scholars by providing them financial and technical support. This scheme is primarily aimed at promoting good quality research in Ayurveda students pursuing post-graduation courses as well as to improve visibility and accessibility of their research work to larger research audience. The research proposal which are dynamic and catering to national health needs will be given priorities. The area may be prioritized as – literary research, fundamental concepts as applied to current health care, standardization / validation of the quality of Ayurveda drugs, assessment of safety of the drugs, techno innovation, Ayurveda interventions in public health care and role of Ayurveda as a standalone or adjuvants treatment in National Health programme etc Read More .

ELIGIBILITY

Ayurveda medical post-graduates of admission batch 2022-23 who have completed their 1st year MD/MS course work (from NCISM/GoI recognized Colleges/Institutes) and who wish to avail CCRAS financial assistance for pursuing their research project. PG-STAR is open to Indian nationals only. The applicant should be an Indian citizen

APPLICATION TIMELINE

  • Registration:- 1st June-9th June, 2024
  • Submission of proposals by the candidates nominated by the respective colleges:- 10th June – 20th June ,2024
  • Internal scrutiny of the proposals:- 24th June – 09th July ,2024
  • Technical review of the proposals :- 10th July – 31st July ,2024
  • Final Evaluation & Declaration of Merit List :- By 9th August,2024
  • Receipt of Acceptance letter & Declaration :- By 17th August,2024
  • Release of First Installment:- By 31st October,2024
  • 1st Interim Progress Report Submission :- By 08th February,2025
  • 2nd Interim Progress Report Submission :- By 09th August,2025
  • Final Report Submission :- By 07th November,2025
  • Evaluation of Final Report :- By 29th November,2025
  • Release of Second installment :- By 28th February,2026
  • Submission of Final Utilization Certificate and Statement of Expenditure :- By 20th March,2026

  • GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

    • There is a fully online application for this programme. Hard copies shall neither be accepted nor entertained.
    • Interested Candidates and their respective guides are required to register on CCRAS PG-STAR website in the month of June and those candidates recommended/ nominated by the head of the respective college or institute only can submit the application form and proposal online which will be evaluated by the Council.
    • Research proposals endorsed by the head of the respective college or institute, following scrutiny through an internal screening mechanism based on 10% of the total sanctioned PG strength of the institute should be submitted in the specified format as per the scheme guidelines, provided that the proposals are approved by the respective affiliated universities
    • Only readable PDF files can be uploaded on CCRAS website and other formats viz. MS Word, JPEG etc. will not be accepted.
    • Students/Guides are requested to submit PG-STAR applications well in advance and not to wait for the last date to avoid the last-minute rush.
    • Only two students can be registered in PG – STAR under one guide.
    • Information such as Name of the Scholar/Guide/College/University, Address/ Contact details or any other identity should be removed from the PG – STAR proposal before online submission failing which such proposals will be deemed rejected. Provide only the reference PG – STAR ID for identification on the top of the proposal.
    • Students must submit the budgetary provisions of their research proposal in the prescribed format as per the scheme for obtaining financial assistance from the Council up to Rs.1,00,000/- provided no changes in the total demand will be entertained in the future.
    • Selections for “PG-STAR” will be made by technical evaluation of the research plan by a panel of experts in the CCRAS. Selection would be made on the basis of merit. The decision of the Council in regard to selection of students will be final.
    • All correspondence will be sent on e-mail and /or College address only.
    • For any further clarifications applicant may contact on given e-mail and the PG – STAR ID in all the e-mail correspondence must be quoted for quick reference.
    • After completion of the project under “PG-STAR”, CCRAS and Ministry of AYUSH shall not be responsible to provide / ensure any kind of paid or honorary, part or full-time employment to the student in the Council or Ministry.
